Vital Radio 184 – Hour 1: Alex Flatner

| November 12th, 2012 | No Comments »

The personal data sheet of Alex Flatner is a buzz famous projects, collaborations, labels and worldwide venues while he mostly remains the quiescent gentleman behind the scenes. Meeting him without knowing his remarkable stages of success would rather draw a picture of a congenial guy who has seen quite a lot of places worldwide and is convinced about himself but he rarely points out what he reached so far. To meet Alex is like seeing a long time friend and one would be quite surprised that Alex runs several prosperous labels, works as A&R manager, producer and DJ all over the globe.

Flatner’s mode of pure understatement factors out several facts which have to be mentioned talking about a matchless track record in music business: Besides being A&R manager stuff like Harthouse, Plastic City and some more quality essentials and running his own imprints Gedankensport and Circle Music he has a broad ranged output taking course parallel to his full time multitasking business and travels throughout the countries every weekend.

He released a fabulous mix CD (World Of Circle) linked with touring through France, India, Spain, Croatia, Germany, Poland and Russia. Alex made a great effort signing artists as Sebastien Leger, Robert Babicz Valentino Kanzyani, Joey Beltram, Umek, Leandro Gamez, Bryan Zentz and Gui Boratto for his Circle Music imprint.

Being “stage director” and producer he has recently remixed Gui Boratto’s “Atol”, Terry Lee Brown Junior,s “Pulsar” or Steve Lawler’s “Almerina”, Märtini Brös (High On Heels) , Alejandro Vivanco’s (Vita Jo) cooperates with the likes Lopazz, Anderson Noise, Joey Beltram, Ken Ishii, Santos, Einzelkind, Simon Baker and Reboot. Appeared on Sven Väth “ In the Ninth Season” (Cocoon) or Loco Dice Compilation ”In The Lab” and reached Beatport Top 20!

Vital Radio 184 – Hour 2: Tom Flynn

| November 12th, 2012 | No Comments »

Awarded the ‘Best Break Through Producer of 2010′ award by Pete Tong, England’s Tom Flynn is renowned as one of House musics most respected forward thinking producers. An International DJ, Producer, Engineer and Remixer, Tom has regularly graced the worlds biggest dance floors as well as gaining an army of fans along the way. His DJ sets range through the whole spectrum of house, from deep to techno, which also reflects itself in his productions and remixes.

Having released on labels such as Anabatic, Dirtybird, BreakNewSoil, Clarisse, Deadfish, SIZE, etc etc, it’s not hard to see why Tom has gained praise and recognition from the cream of the worlds best DJ’s. His music can regularly be heard on Pete Tongs Essential Selection show on BBC Radio 1, where he has also won the ‘Essential New Tune’ for ‘Bianca’, as well as in the record boxes of Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Dubfire, Yousef, Claude Vonstroke, Booka Shade, Mendo and Loco Dice. Several Music Magazines and Blogs have recently sited Tom as one of House musics brightest stars and it’s easy to see why.

Coming from a very musical background, there was only one way Tom was going to go once House music had been discovered at the early age of 12. From recently learning to play piano to picking up studio secrets from mentor Lee Fisher (of MOTHER fame), and studying music at college, Tom has been hard at work in and out of the studio ever since. “I really love nothing more than progressing and learning as an artist, producer and engineer, trying to do something new, different and pushing this sound of ours forward”

| October 4th, 2012 | 1 Comment »

Dj Ups and Kukoo Wasps are brothers from the UK who produced and Dj-ed in London England during the boom of the initial rave scene in 1990.

After a 13 year break, the guys returned with groundbreaking new albums from Obviously High and The Moog, and EPs from Kukoo Wasp, DJ Ups and Thundermental.

A refreshing mixture of nu-skool, progressive breaks, old-skool, deep house, and prog house. In June 2006, WXM Music relocated to Toronto, Canada and evolved into Liquid Stairs.

The boys once again hit the decks on the 2012 Liquid Stairs and Vital Radio boatcruise  and showed Toronto what funky house really means.
