Friday Flashback: 2 Unlimited on a comeback?!Dj Endgame | Saturday, May 1st, 2010 | 1 Comment »
Don’t call it a comeback…Call it a re-branding. 2 Unlimited, famous for such tunes as “No Limit”, Tribal Dance and of course “Get Ready for This” – a couple of which we talked about in the “Electronic Music and Sports” discussion not too long ago.
Well, 2 Unlimited is back, under the guise of Ray & Anita have come out with a new tune “In Da Name of Love”, and its the familiar format of chick singing, dude rapping.
Here’s the video:
According to Wiki,
“In da Name of Love is a dance song released and written by Ray Slijngaard and Anita Doth. It is their first song released under the name Ray & Anita, having previously, most famously been the vocalists for the eurodance band 2 Unlimited. It premiered on Radio 538 on 5 January 2010, and was officially released on iTunes Holland Stor on 8 January. On their Youtube page, Spinnin’ Records announced that the full release on CD Single will be available on January 22
As well as being written by Ray Slijngaard & Anita Doth, and being co-written by Robin Morssink & Jan van der Toorn, the new song takes on today’s musical style, while still paying homage to the older fans from 2 Unlimited with rap verses, finding an equilibrium that will allow new fans to enjoy it, while not alienating the older ones.”
So, what do you think, 2 Unlimited on the comeback trail, or 2 Unlimited trying to pad the bank account one more time?
